DAY 142

Today I was going on a hunch to find dolls. I realized you can not wait and hit the thrift stores on the weekend.  You have to go during the week and, I was right.  I know that if I find a doll for $2.00 I can sell it for $5.00 to a lady that resells them for $10.00.   This may sound terrible but the high insight is that at $10.00 the doll is still cheaper than the store where it can retail (the same doll) for $16.00.  The lady that I sell to, sells to people who don't have much money so it is really a win win situation and like a little branch of what My Muñeca project is all about.  That is, reducing reusing and recycling but not garbage insomuch as toys that may have been thrown in the garbage.  Yeah, I may be on to something here.  In the meantime I continue to search out clothes that fit the many dolls in my collection and requested paperwork to attend a doll show.  This time as a vendor, not a buyer. 

DAY 141

Breaking into a new clothing market for my beloved 17" Baby Steps by Berenguer with the help from Build a Bear.  Who new bear clothes could look so good on my baby!? Here is the New Cessi ( I say the new because the old one was a duplicate and I am going to sell her) New Cessi in I-Carly bear wear.  Yeah.  I even found shoes to fit her and just in time because the fake flip flops I made discolored her feet overnight.

Here are a couple of links.  The first one will tell you about Ball Joint dolls and the other two are amazing blogs the helped me learn more about these dolls and the two people that love them.  Their photos are incredible and show serious talent.  They both inspire me to continue on with my blog and to strive to be better.  I hope to own one of these dolls one day. DAY 138 and 139

Computer not working to show you the cute little doll I got on Thursday and tried dressing yesterday and today.  I tried to get to the doll shop yesterday to no avail and today, by the time I got to the doll shop it was closed. 

DAY 137

I have tried to get my family to take pictures of me working on my dolls.  Unfortunately they are usually in bed.  Here is what I look like.  Refreshed from having some me time last night as I worked on my dolls and was able to relax and sleep sound.  

DAY 136

To play or not to play that is the question.  With so many domestic responsibilities looming at me I think it only fair to say "screw it"!  It is so much more fun to play with dolls and that is exactly what I am doing.  I am teaching myself through trial and error.  With the new build a bear clothes I just bought I have to wonder if they come in different sizes?  This girl looks so cute but the shoes are clearly too big.  But you be the judge, and while you are at it tell me how much would you pay for this doll? 

DAY 135

     Working on trading dolls and having a great time chatting with my friend who owns the doll shop.  We have agreed to do a doll show together.  Now we have to find one to attend but in the meantime I want to increase my inventory and see what I could do to sell,  sell, sell.  Part of me thinks I am an idiot, yet I do know I want to have this experience so I am going to try it any way.  I just have to get stuff together and plan.  I may have to fake it till I make it but I'm willing to attempt to rid myself of personal negativity that could inhibit my success.  Here are some of the things I bought and want to sell.
